With courage and defiance, activist, writer, model and 2023 Young New Zealander of the Year Shaneel Lal (they/them) founded the Conversion Therapy Action Group, who paved the way for conversion therapy to be banned in Aotearoa in 2022. To celebrate the publication of their stunning memoir One of Them, which explores their childhood in a small village in Fiji, moving to New Zealand as a teenager and their fight to live their life as they deserve, Shaneel will be in conversation with Mahdis Azarmandi.
