TICKETING AGENCIES

Tickets to all events at WORD Christchurch Festival are accessible via the events on our website:

Tickets for Voices of Ōtākaro at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre are available through their website, www.artscentre.org.nz.

CONCESSION TICKETS

Concession tickets are only available for students with ID, Hāpai Card holders, Gold Card holders and Community Services Card holders. Service fees are the same for all tickets.

If you are a Hāpai Access Card holder with a +1 symbol we are pleased to provide your companion a free ticket for festival events (excluding catered events).

DOOR SALES

Where possible, if not already sold out, door sales will be available from one hour before the session from our main box office at The Piano. Any door sales purchased at The Piano or other venues will be the advertised standard ticket price plus service fees. Ticket sales will also be available online via our website right until the sessions start, if you decide to book at the last minute. We do advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

FESTIVAL PASS

If you are keen to see as much as possible at WORD, we recommend a Festival Pass. For $300* per person, you can book a ticket for as many sessions as you wish. The pass excludes tickets to catered events, workshops and The Savage Coloniser Show. Passes are non-transferable, non-refundable and are for one named person. Pass holders must get their tickets issued at the Box Office prior to their first festival event and show photo ID.

BOOKING FEES

All tickets purchased are subject to booking and service fees.

For WORD Christchurch managed ticketing we charge a $2 booking fee plus credit card/service fee surcharge of 3%

For shows at the Isaac Theatre Royal there is an additional Heritage Levy of $1 per ticket.

SEATING AT WORD EVENTS

All our events are general admission and there is no allocated seating. If you have a preferred spot, please ensure you arrive to the venue early. Doors will open no later than 15 minutes prior to the session start time.

 

ACCESSIBILITY AND SEATING REQUIREMENTS

If you require any assistance with seating requirements or need to make a wheelchair and/or companion booking please call the WORD Box Office directly on 020 410 29927 or email ticketing@wordchristchurch.co.nz. Calling hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm.

 

FREE EVENTS – Capacity for free events is limited and we advise arriving early to secure a seat. Seats will not be able to be held.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Ticket prices are GST inclusive and subject to availability.
  • General Admission events do not have allocated seating.
  • Tickets are non-transferable between events, unless switching from an in-person to an on-demand ticket, where noted as a livestream event in the programme.
  • There are no refunds or exchanges on lost or stolen tickets.
  • There are no exchanges or refunds on ticket price or service fees except as required by law.
  • We reserve the right not to admit latecomers until a suitable point in the session.

 

PROGRAMME CHANGES AND UPDATES

WORD Christchurch Festival reserves the right to change the schedule, speakers or replace sessions. Any unavoidable changes will be advertised on the festival website, and through our social media networks. In the event of a cancellation, the ticket price will be refunded. There will be no postponements. Transaction/service fees are non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation, please consider donating the value of the ticket to WORD Christchurch, we would very much appreciate your support.

BOOK SIGNINGS

Book signings at WORD Christchurch Festival are at our writer’s discretion. We encourage you to still support our writers by purchasing their books, either from the UBS bookshop at The Piano, or ordering online from www.ubscan.co.nz.

 

KEEP WELL

If you are unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home. We are a mask friendly festival – you are welcome to wear a mask to help you and those around you stay safe and confident to come to WORD events.

Book signings by our writers will be at their discretion and will take place immediately after each event. You may bring your own copy, or buy one from UBS, our festival bookshop.
