The dynamics of an evolving southern world are mapped by distinguished archaeologist Atholl Anderson (Ngāi Tahu) in a new edition of his groundbreaking 1988 book The Welcome of Strangers: A History of Southern Māori. Anderson is joined by fellow Ngāi Tahu historians Michael Stevens (Ngāi Tahu), Te Maire Tau (Ngāi Tahu), and Helen Brown (Ngāi Tahu) in this session which introduces the book to a new generation of readers. In conversation with Ross Calman (Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāi Tahu).
Presented by the Ngāi Tahu Archive, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.
