GENERAL TICKETING

Keen to see as much of WORD as possible? Buy three tickets or more and get 10% off with the code WORD10, or buy five tickets to any sessions you wish and receive 20% off with the promo code WORD20 at checkout.

As part of our commitment to inclusion and accessibility, WORD has Pay What You Wish pricing for select events -  you can choose to pay the amount you’d like. Any amount you choose to pay above our usual ticket pricing helps us ensure other people are able to attend WORD events where cost is normally a barrier.

Please consider giving a donation to WORD at the ticket checkout. You'll be helping us keep the festival going for years to come.

CONCESSION TICKETS

Concession tickets are available for students with ID, Hāpai Card holders, Gold Card holders and Community Services Card holders. Service fees are the same for all tickets.

If you are a Hāpai Access Card holder with a +1 symbol we are pleased to provide your companion a free ticket for festival events (excluding catered events). Please contact us to book in that free companion ticket.

DOOR SALES

Where possible, if not already sold out, door sales will be available from one hour before the session from our main box office at The Piano. Any door sales purchased at The Piano or other venues will be the advertised standard ticket price plus service fees. Ticket sales will also be available online via our website right until the sessions start, if you decide to book at the last minute. We do advise booking early to avoid missing out.

BOOKING FEES

All tickets purchased are subject to booking and service fees.

For WORD Christchurch managed ticketing we charge a $2 booking fee plus a service fee surcharge of 3%.

SEATING AT WORD EVENTS

All our events - excluding Ā Mua - are general admission and there is no allocated seating. If you have a preferred spot, please ensure you arrive at the venue early. Doors will open no later than 15 minutes prior to the session start time.

ACCESSIBILITY AND SEATING REQUIREMENTS

If you require any assistance with seating requirements or need to make a wheelchair and/or companion booking please call the WORD Box Office directly on 020 410 29927 or email ticketing@wordchristchurch.co.nz. Calling hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.

FREE EVENTS

Capacity for free events is limited and we advise arriving early to secure a seat. Seats will not be able to be held except for accessibility reasons.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Ticket prices are GST inclusive and subject to availability.

• General Admission events do not have allocated seating.

• Tickets are non-transferable between events, unless switching from an in-person to an on-demand ticket, where noted as a livestream event in the programme.

• There are no refunds or exchanges on lost or stolen tickets.

• There are no exchanges or refunds on ticket price or service fees except as required by law.

• We reserve the right not to admit latecomers until a suitable point in the session.

PROGRAMME CHANGES AND UPDATES

WORD Christchurch Festival reserves the right to change the schedule, speakers or replace sessions. Any unavoidable changes will be advertised on the festival website, and through our social media networks. In the event of a cancellation, the ticket price will be refunded. There will be no postponements. Transaction/service fees are non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation, please consider donating the value of the ticket to WORD Christchurch, we would very much appreciate your support.
