Support WORD Christchurch

WORD Christchurch brings people together around the stories, ideas, and conversations that shape how we see the world. We are more than a festival or a series of events. We spark connections between writers and readers, ideas and action, and communities and cultures across Ōtautahi Christchurch and beyond. We create a space where people meet, deepen understanding, and collectively explore the power of stories. We champion the writers, the artists and the thinkers.

As a charitable trust, we rely on your aroha and support to keep WORD wonderful. We invite you to become a WORD Champion—an essential part of the team helping to make our city a dynamic and more considerate place to live.

As a Champion, your contribution ensures that words, ideas and storytelling remain accessible to all. Your support allows us to:

• Keep 20-30% of our sessions free during the festival and support a free schools programme.

• Keep ticket prices affordable for the whole community.

• Support and nurture the next generation of writers, thinkers, and performers.

What sort of Champion are you?

Sign up today!

It's as easy as that. Your support helps us bridge the gap between ideas and action. If you'd prefer to chat or fill in a manual form, please email Steph Walker at steph@wordchristchurch.co.nz.

LEAVE A BEQUEST TO WORD CHRISTCHURCH

By leaving a bequest to WORD Christchurch, you ensure that future generations in Ōtautahi Christchurch continue to be inspired, challenged, and united through the power of books, ideas, and storytelling. Once you have taken care of your loved ones, a gift in your Will helps secure the long term future of our festival and year-round community programming. Your generosity directly supports local and international writers, nurtures young readers through our schools and youth initiatives, and keeps cultural kōrero thriving at the heart of our city.
