Short Stories: The Art of the Glimpse
The writer William Trevor said the short story form is defined by “the art of the glimpse.” It should be an explosion of truth. Its strength lies in what it leaves out just as much as what it puts in, if not more. Short story writers Ingrid Horrocks, the 2026 Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction winner, Shariff Burke and Laura Borrowdale join Kate de Goldi for a conversation about the craft of the short story and their latest collections.
