Ingrid Horrocks: The Right Moment: Discovering Stories through Image and Scene

Ingrid Horrocks won the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize  for Fiction at the 2026 Ockham New Zealand Book awards for her short story collection All Her Lives. Short stories are often built around one key image or scene. Sometimes this image or scene can contain the suggestion of a whole life. The session with Ingrid will explore how writers find such suggestive moments and the work involved in making them into a story.
