“Imagination is a form of courage” – Janet Frame

On the day that marks the centenary of the trailblazing Aotearoa writer Janet Frame’s birth, our festival guests Catherine Taylor (UK), Sasha taqwšəblu LaPointe (USA), Tayi Tibble (Te Whānau ā Apanui, Ngāti Porou) Talia Marshall (Ngāti Kuia, Rangitāne o Wairau, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Takihiku) and Airana Ngarewa (Ngāti Ruanui, Ngāruahine, Ngā Rauru) explore their own moments of imagination and courage. Be dazzled by this sparkling lineup as we celebrate one of Aotearoa’s most acclaimed and beloved writers.

This will be followed by a special announcement on behalf of Janet Frame’s literary executor Pamela Gordon of the Janet Frame Literary Trust award recipient for 2024.
