In 1997 Pacific Underground’s (PU’s) production of Dawn Raids by Oscar Kightley left our Pacific community speechless, but wanting more. Set just over twenty years before, the play brought back raw and painful memories that had been stashed away. In 2021, twenty five years later, PU presented play readings of Dawn Raids to honour the Polynesian Panthers and their 50th Anniversary. The play reading was still raw but the community was ready to receive it. We are proud to collaborate with Pacific Underground to present this play reading at Ngā Hau E Wha Marae.
By arrangement with Playmarket. We acknowledge the CNZ Pacific Arts Strategy.
