Nic Low (Ngāi Tahu) is an author, arts organiser and regular contributor to publications on both sides of the Tasman. He is the author of three acclaimed books, including Uprising, exploring Ngāi Tahu’s history in the Southern Alps through walking journeys, while his latest, with Phil Dadson, is Little Doomsdays, a meditation on how past civilisations tried to preserve what they love, from arks to time capsules to seed banks and waka huia. In 2024 he was Ursula Bethell Writer in Residence at the University of Canterbury, working on a new book. When not writing, you’ll find him and his whānau tramping, biking, climbing or running in the hills.
