Chris Jones is an associate professor in history at the University of Canterbury. Trained in the UK, France and Canada, his principal research focuses on the history of political thought in the Middle Ages. Chris has edited a wide range of books and digital projects including The Canterbury Roll Project (2017) and, most recently, Rethinking Medieval and Renaissance Political Thought: Historiographical Problems, Fresh Interpretations, New Debates (2023) with Takashi Shogimen. He was appointed Chief Editor of the H-France Review in 2023, and holds editorial roles with Bloomsbury, Routledge and ARC-Humanities Press. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
