Anna Rogers

Anna Rogers has an MA in English from Canterbury University and has spent most of her working life as a freelance fiction and non-fiction book editor. Owen Marshall, Dame Fiona Kidman, Laurence Fearnley and Carl Nixon are among the writers whose work she edits. She has also been a bookseller and a sub-editor for the Listener. Her several books of non-fiction include While You’re Away: New Zealand Nurses at War 1899–1948 and illustrated histories of the West Coast and Canterbury. With Them Through Hell: New Zealand Medical Services in the First World War was shortlisted for the 2019 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards. Anna has also adapted books for radio and is a regular book reviewer. She was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for Services to Literature in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours.
