2025 WORD lovers Raffle

During our 2025 Festival we had three raffles for audiences members to purchase tickets for at our three main venues, with some great prizes donated by our friends at Crowne Plaza, the Canterbury Museum, Crafty Weka, the University of Canterbury, Kate Sheppard House, Tūranga, and our wonderful local publishers.

Word Lovers Raffle Terms and Conditions

1. Raffle ticket purchase
   1. Each raffle ticket is priced at $5.
   2. Participants must be ages 18 years and over.
   3. There are three (3) separate raffles being held at each of the following venues during the Word Christchurch Festival:
      

• • • Tūranga – TSB room
    • The Christchurch Art Gallery
    • The Piano

       2. Prizes

1. 1. The prizes for the raffle will be determined and announced by WORD Christchurch.
   2. The list of prizes for the relevant raffle are:

Prize: Piano Perfection  (yellow tickets) total value $820 

• one-night stay x 2ppl at the Crowne Plaza 
• bookstack of reading treats 
• behind-the-scenes rare book tour at UC x 3 ppl 
• 4 x tickets to Quake City 
• reading snacks from Crafty Weka 

Prize: Tūranga Treats (blue tickets) total value $430 

• bookstack of reading treats 
• 60-minute genealogy session at Tūranga 
• 2 x tickets to Kate Sheppard House with tour and afternoon tea 
• reading snacks from Crafty Weka
  

Prize: Art Gallery Amusements (green tickets) total value $460

• private tour of archival gems at Tūranga 
• 4 x tickets to Ravenscar House Museum 
• reading snacks from Crafty Weka 

3. Raffle draw
   

3.1. The raffle draw will take place at the conclusion of the Word Christchurch 2025 Festival.
3.3. The draw will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, ensuring equal opportunity for all ticket holders.

4. Notification of winners
   

4.1. Winning ticket holders will be notified via the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase.
4.2. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to ensure that their contact information is accurate and up-to-date.

4.2 Each winner must claim their prize within 3 months following the notification of their winnings.

5. Publication of winners
   

5.1. The names of the prize winners will be published on the official Word Christchurch website.
5.2. By participating in the raffle, ticket holders consent to the publication of their names in connection with the announcement of winners.

6. Use of proceeds
   

6.1. All proceeds from the raffle will be treated as donations to the Word Christchurch Trust.
6.2. The funds will be used to support the activities and initiatives of the Trust.

7. General conditions
   

7.1. Participation in the raffle constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
7.2. The organisers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
7.3. Any disputes arising from the raffle will be resolved at the sole discretion of the organisers.

8. Governing law
   

8.1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
8.2. Any legal proceedings arising from these terms and conditions shall be conducted in the courts of New Zealand.
