Writing Power: Pip Adam & Jared Davidson

Jared Davidson and Pip Adam’s books are shaped by their politics and lived experiences. In Blood and Dirt, Davidson upends our understanding of New Zealand history by showing how prisoners made modern Aotearoa. Adam’s novel Audition – like her past work – explores power and possibilities for overturning current political structures in favour of newer utopian worlds. In this genre-crossing session, Davidson and Adam discuss why they write, and how their political beliefs and actions feed their writing practices.
