Whiti Hereaka

Whiti Hereaka (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Te Arawa, Ngāti Whakaue, Tūhourangi, Ngāti Tumatawera, Tainui, Pākehā) is an award-winning novelist and playwright based in Wellington. She is the author of four novels, including award-winning YA titles. One of them, Kurangaituku, won the 2022 Jann Medlicott Acorn Award for Fiction in the 2022 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards.
