Thomas Coyle MNZM is one of New Zealand's leading forensic scientists, with more than 38 years of experience in fingerprint identification, crime scene examination, and disaster victim identification. Awarded a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to forensic science, Thomas has attended and examined over 20,000 crime scenes, including major disasters and complex murder investigations.
A respected expert witness, educator, and President of the Independent Forensic Practitioners Institute (IFPi), he is passionate about advancing forensic science and inspiring the next generation.
Thomas is also the bestselling author of The Dead Speak: My Life in Forensics, offering a rare insight into life behind the crime scene tape. He is the Director of Forensic Insight Ltd, a consultancy that provides expert forensic advice, training, and independent case review services to legal professionals and organisations. Outside of his professional life, Thomas is married to Allie and is the proud father of one daughter, Hannah.
