Sara Qasem

Sara Qasem is a Palestinian writer based in Ōtautahi. Having immigrated to Aotearoa at a young age, Sara pursued a career as a high school teacher and came to develop a passion for spoken word poetry and its role in raising awareness to humanitarian efforts. Sara has spoken on various public platforms, both local and international, on her journey through grief, her community’s resilience, and the importance of advocating for marginalised communities. Sara’s work reflects her belief in harnessing our stories of tragedy to foster meaningful and positive change, for all.
