Rachel Clare

Rachel Clare is an editor, writer and gardening journalist with 25 years’ experience in the book publishing and magazine industries. She has worked at NZ Gardener magazine, OrganicNZ magazine and is associate editor of Kiwi Gardener magazine. Her book Play Wild: Nature Craft Projects for Tamariki encourages children to connect with the natural world through play by making use of what can be found outside in flower, leaf, pebble and stick form and in recycling bins and pantries. Play Wild won a 2024 Storylines Notable Book Award, was a finalist in the NZ Booklovers Awards and is a finalist in the 2025 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.
