
Jessie Garland
Jessie Garland is an archaeologist and material culture specialist. She has worked with the archaeology of Christchurch for over a decade, with an emphasis on the analysis and interpretation of 19th century material culture from the city.
Jessie has a PhD from La Trobe University, Melbourne. For her doctoral thesis, she investigated the trade and supply of domestic commodities to Christchurch during the 19th century. She has a particular interest in the role that objects play in people’s lives and the stories that they can tell about the past on an individual and collective scale.
