David Riley is a children’s writer and teacher who grew up in Māngere. He attended Māngere College then went to Auckland University where he studied Social Anthropology. David taught Drama and English at Tangaroa College for 23 years and started writing books then as well. He has made over 100 books and also helps young people, families and community groups to write and publish their own stories too. David lives in Clover Park with his wife Lauano Debbie, who is Samoan and also a teacher, and their two daughters.
