Angela Clifford
Angela Clifford is one New Zealand’s thought leaders in food, farming and the environment. She leads Aotearoa’s not for profit food movement Eat New Zealand, their mission is to reconnect people with our land and ocean through food.
She is also co-owner of The Food Farm which is a regenerative, small family farm in North Canterbury that demonstrates what a truly local, circular food system can look like in practice. It integrates food forests, vegetables, animals and soil-building methods that restore ecosystems rather than deplete them. With a strong focus on Permaculture, education, and farm to table cooking, The Food Farm models how farms can operate as living systems - where soil health, biodiversity, and people are all interconnected.
Angela and her husband Nick Gill published their first book The Food Farm: A Life Growing and Eating Our Own Food, in 2025. You can find this book at UBS - The University Bookshop Canterbury.
