Kevin Jared Hosein’s Hungry Ghosts is set in 1940s Trinidad and evokes the ripple effects of generational trauma. In We’re All Made of Lightning, Khadro Mohamed navigates the experience of being a Muslim woman in Aotearoa and shares glimpses into her many worlds, Aotearoa, Egypt and Somalia through her love of food, family, identity and nature. A descendant of Te Rauparaha, Ross Calman (Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa-ki-te-tonga, Kāi Tahu) translates the stories of Te Rauparaha’s life in He Pukapuka Tātaku i ngā Mahi a Te Rauparaha Nui. They discuss writing indigeneity, the retelling of history and colonisation from new perspectives with Arihia Latham (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe, Waitaha).
