The voices of Tusiata Avia are infinite. In her electrifying new work, The Savage Coloniser Book, she gathers all the power of her voice to speak directly into histories of violence, including the arrival of James Cook and the 2019 Christchurch massacre. Sister-poet Selina Tusitala Marsh says of the book: ‘With characteristic savage and stylish wit, Avia holds the word-blade to our necks and presses with a relentless grace. At the end, you’ll feel your pulse anew.’

Please join Tusiata for the launch of this much-anticipated collection, with performances from special guests Selina Tusitala Marsh and FAFSWAG’s Pati Solomona Tyrell.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
