Spring comes early when WORD Christchurch presents a spectacular line-up of speakers to warm you up and get you thinking, with fifteen events that just may change your mind.
Headlining speakers include distinguished British writer Simon Winchester; Natalie Haynes, host of the BBC radio show Natalie Haynes Stands Up for the Classics; DeRay Mckesson, American activist and a founder of the Black Lives Matter movement; Val McDermid, Scottish crime writer; New Zealand historian Vincent O’Malley and scholar Marilyn Waring and comedy movers and shakers, including Madeleine Sami and Justine Smith, and much much more.
The season closes with a special celebration of the 2019 Ngaio Marsh Awards for crime writing on 14 September that you won’t want to miss.
