As Māori and Pasifika writers and storytellers, what do we want the future of indigenous storytelling to look like? Hosted in the stunning indigenous design space of Tokona Te Raki, the Māori Futures Collective, this wānaka (workshop) explores ways of telling our own stories, navigating and remaking the mainstream writing world, and the evolution of traditions and forms. It’s also a chance to meet and welcome the Te Papa Tupu emerging writers crew, and have a kai with storytellers from across the motu. Special guests include Patricia Grace, Ben Brown, Kera Sherwood O’Regan, Daisy Lavea-Timo and Eboni Waitere.
Tickets are not required to attend free events. We do recommend arriving early to secure a place. Please note that if COVID-19 alert levels change, online registration for free events will be required.
