WORD Christchurch produces the largest literary festival in the South Island and a programme of year-round events. It has a reputation for inclusiveness, innovation and excellence, and continues to grow its audience.
We are seeking a Sponsorship and Audience Development Manager to join our small and highly successful team. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with proven sponsorship management skills, as well as experience in developing audiences through digital marketing, to take on the newly created role.
Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Executive Director and Programme Director, you will be responsible for:
Developing and administering sponsorships, partnerships, and the organisation’s patrons and supporters programme. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing the fundraising/sponsorship strategy as well as managing and deepening the existing sponsor relationships.
Developing and executing a digital marketing strategy to grow and develop the organisation’s audiences. You will be responsible for managing the social media platforms and EDMs.
The successful applicant will enjoy multi-tasking and thrive in an open plan environment as part of a close team, bringing a collaborative style, good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a hands-on approach including on the ground at the biennial festival and other events.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to positively influence relationships and outcomes. The ability to network and build strong and successful relationships is an essential skill required for this role. An interest in books and reading as well as experience in hosting and organising functions is an advantage.
