Sacha McMeeking is the Head of Aotahi the School of Māori and Indigenous Studies and co-founder of Tū Māia a kaupapa Māori business than designs leadership and entrepreneurship programmes. She has had a varied career which started with UN advocacy on behalf of Iwi Māori spanned public policy, negotiations and political advice as the General Manager Strategy and Influence with Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu before moving into innovation and social entrepreneurship. At Aotahi she has launched a lab and two new Masters programmes. Her academic research aims to develop emerging theories of how to practice self determination as well as exploring the impact of macro trends on Indigenous communities which contributed to her appearing on the prime time What Next TVNZ programme hosted by Nigel Latta and John Campbell. She is of Ngāi Tahu descent, holds a Master of Law (Hons) and was the inaugural Fulbright Harkness Fellow.
