Nic Low (Ngāi Tahu) is the author of three acclaimed books, including Uprising (2021), a history of the Southern Alps told through walking journeys, and Little Doomsdays (2023, with Phil Dadson), about how past civilisations tried to preserve what they love when faced with their own demise. He is a contributing editor at New Zealand Geographic and a 2024 Ursula Bethell writer in residence at the University of Canterbury.
