Melanie Dixon is an award-winning writer from Otautahi Christchurch. She holds a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Auckland and is the current Director of Hagley Writers' Institute. Her first young-adult novel, New Dawning, won a Storylines Notable Book Award and is on the 2024 shortlist for the NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults. When she's not writing, you can find Melanie planning her next adventure.
